TGIF

I'm sure there will be many more entries with the same title!
This week has been really long, with lots of homework and very little knitting. I finished up another beanie (blue this time, with a 2x2 ribbed fold-up brim), and I'm working on a little purple variegated change purse. I'm excited to use some of those buttons I bought. People at work are seeing my stuff and keep offering to buy things. I'm hoping I'll be a success at the craft show!
And tonight I'm planning to pull out the sewing machine (finally!) and get started on the little purses and stuffed animals. Hooray! More buttons for eyes! I don't know why I have this strange urge to sew buttons on things. That's probably a little weird...
Anyway, another reason I'm excited about it being Friday is because this Friday is the 19th, and that means (Are you ready, kids?) SPONGEBOB!!!! The movie opens tonight, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it sometime this weekend. Woohoo!
That's all for now... I'll see if I can figure out pictures before Monday.

Pictures?

I seriously need to figure out how to put pictures in my entries. I don't know HTML, so I'll have to ask somebody to help me. But I've taken pictures of a bunch of my knitted goodies already, and I want to share!
Last night and this morning I wrote a lovely 5 page paper for Religion class, so now I get to go turn that in (woohoo!). I also finished (while I should have been writing the paper) Kelsey's birthday hat. It's a beautiful jewel-toned green and burgundy wool beanie, and I'm super excited to hand it off. She doesn't seem like much of a hat girl, but it's cold here so maybe I can convince her to wear it.
That's all for now. I don't know if there will be much knitting going on tonight as I desperately need to work on my thesis (boo).

Going Swimmingly

The knitting is coming along nicely. Why, I may even have a significant number of finished objects in time for the craft fair! I've been working on scarves, including a lovely one in plush lavender "LuLu" from Bernat (I want some more of this stuff!). Last night I whipped out a beanie and wrist warmer in purple/blue variegated from (dun dun dunh...) WalMart. I'm also devising my own pattern for one of those skinny little snake scarves, and I'll sew buttons on for eyes when I'm done. I'm not sure how to finish of the head, but I think I'll just do a sock toe looking thing.

In other news, I'm not even sure if I am signed up for the craft fair since the entry sheet said to mail the form and deposit by November 8th. That means if I dropped it off in the office on November 12, it's still getting there at the same time as other entries, right? Cross your fingers! I guess if not I can still sell things to my lovely and generous friends and give the rest away for Christmas.

College stuff, you ask? Grad school applications are coming along slowly. I've had a bit of a fiasco trying to register for my classes for Spring (grr). Other than that, I'm just grouchy about having to clean the kitchen when the girls leave dirty dishes all over it. And we're going on a field trip to Seattle to hear chanting monks tonight! Woohoo!
