FO: Embossed Leaves

I have another FO to share today, this time the Embossed Leaves socks from IK Winter 2005. These were a snap to knit, since the pattern was very simple but engaging. They were especially excellent for girls' night, where we watch guilty-pleasure tv (yes, I will admit that I spend time every week on So You Think You Can Dance? and The Real Housewives of New Jersey) and drink wine with dinner. I managed to work on these and not make any mistakes, so I recommend this pattern to anyone who hasn't tried it yet!

Here are some more details:
Pattern - Embossed Leaves (rav link)

Yarn - Mystery lovely blue yarn gifted to me during the Secret Pal 12 exchange. I was originally using this yarn to make Kirsten Kapur's Socktober Mystery Socks with the cable, but they were quite a bit to tight to fit over my giant heel and ankle, so I frogged. The yarn handled ripping well, so I'm very pleased. I am in love with the variegated colorway, and I'm using the leftovers (every last bit!) for stripey mitts.

Needles - US1 dpns, as usual

Mods - I'm not really a huge fan of the 1x1 twisted rib on the cuff of these socks, so I went with a standard 2x2 rib for the same number of rows. I also modified the number of repeats to fit my foot and leg, which meant 8 fewer rows in the leg section and 8 more on the foot. They fit like a dream (sorry I didn't take any on-the-foot pictures!), and I think I'll get some wear out of them come fall.

Verdict - a great project, and a pattern I'd probably knit again.
