The texture of these socks reminds me of alligator skin, which is probably appropriate given the muggy, near tropical weather we've been enduring here in Chicago! I wouldn't be surprised to see an alligator walking along in this swampy heat.
These are Nancy Bush's Gentleman's Shooting Stockings, currently in progress for Knitterboi, using the yarn he picked out on PEI. The pattern is easy to memorize, and I subbed in a fairly mindless stockinette heel flap that I think shows off the yarn well. The second sock is well on its way to being finished, and I might even get to graft the toe later today.
I have to admit I'm finding this project a bit boring, so I've been filling some time with teaching myself how to spin. I already have three small balls of yarn to show for it, and I'll tell you more tomorrow :) For now, please enjoy a bonus lounging Gus photo.
Happy Thursday, all.

Hi Allison, Looks like lounging Gus has alot to think about....which side shall I lay on..left or right! I love your socks, I'm almost finished knitting a black cardigan and will start on some socks myself. Have a great day. Kind regards, Anita.
The socks are really cute. I love the texture.
those are awesome alligator socks, and the name is very appropriate. that's so neat that you're learning to spin!
