Another yarn feature for you today - I can't get enough sock yarn, as you all know, and this shop is full of affordable and beautiful choices.
Portfiber is a source for unique hand dyed yarns and fibers based in Portland, Maine, which means I might get to stop by this summer (ooh! I will save my dollars and take along my sock needles).

The fiber content is merino and seacell, a combination I haven't tried and would like to. And those gorgeous colors are made with natural dyes. The color sensibility is flawless. At 400 yards, it's plenty for a pair of socks for my big feet, too.

I love the subtle variegated purples and the pale greens. Even though I don't love eggplant the food, I could certainly get behind a washable eggplant beret or shawlette. Or wouldn't this make a great baby hat and booties set or tiny sweater?
The shop also features a ton of roving, yet another subtle hint that I should be learning how to spin.

This hand-dyed
Salsa Night would make great chunky singles. It is the perfect fiery red for the upcoming Cinco de Mayo festivities N and I have planned (she just got back from Mexico, and she brought me an amazing present, which I will have to model for you all in a photo shoot soon!).
I keep clicking back to
Portfiber, and now I hope you will, too. There are so many yarns and fibers to drool over. Enjoy your visit!
