February 2nd is, as the title shows, Bloggers' (Silent) Poetry Reading Day. It's held in honor of the feast day of one of my favorite saints - St. Brigid of Ireland, patron of scholars, poets, healers, metalworkers, and dairy workers.
This one has been on my mind lately, so here you go.
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
