FO! These are the socks for my professor.
Yarn: Knitting Fever Indulgence 6-ply, color #2
Needles: Knit Picks US1 metal dpns, set of 5
Pattern: none/improvised. Top-down construction, just 3x3 ribbing on the cuff, slip-stitch patterned heel flap, and stockinette for the foot. Flat toe.
Verdict: I am optimistic that they'll be the right size (I couldn't come up with a way to ask his shoe size without giving everything away, but I am okay at guessing, and wool is stretchy!), and I think the colorway is great for him, since he has a sweater with almost these exact colors in it. I'll let you know how the hand-off goes in a couple weeks.
As far as the Project Spectrum: Red aspect of this project is concerned, I actually quite like the pairing of that brick red with light mint green. Who knew?
