So What's Knittin'?

I'm almost finished with the back of the IK Drawstring Chemise that I'm making out of KnitPicks CotLin in a great shade of purple. I should be able to finish that and the front in another 2 weeks or so, just in time to use it as a layer under fall jackets and sweaters.
I've just gotten the yarn for a pair of mittens that I'm making to exchange with another knitter friend who is coming to visit me in mid-October. Hopefully I'll get them mostly finished next weekend and the following week before she arrives :)

Strangely I have no socks on the needles at the moment, though I'm on the lookout for an interesting pattern to try. Any suggestions?
